About STANDSTAND is a public foundation whose purpose is to support the enhancement of skills, knowledge and livelihoods of marginalized young adults in the Greater Vancouver area.
Through our scholarships, STAND helps young people access education and skills training to realize their vocational goals and build economic self-sufficiency.
How we do it:We provide financial assistance and mentorship opportunities to those in need.
We concentrate our effort on young adults from the Greater Vancouver area who have overcome significant personal and family challenges
We are all professionals volunteering time and resources to help others - hence our low administrative expenses of 5%
As of August 15th, 2011:38 scholarships have been awarded for a total of $106,135.
88% of money raised to date has been placed in a permanent scholarship fund
Total assets in STAND's scholarship have grown to approximately $500,000.
